Toddlers will develop important abilities, and learn how to interact and build rapport with others, be independent, as well as other essential social skills. Moreover, at MPU our program consists of diverse activities conducted in French, with the aim of assisting children in:

  • Gross motor - walking, running, climbing;
  • Fine motor - feeding themselves, writing and drawing;
  • Sensory - sight, touch, smell, taste, auditory;
  • Language/speech - a few words, then sentences;
  • Social dynamics - playing and sharing with others, taking turns, theater play.

This is a stage of rapid physical and intellectual growth and development, during which children are preparing to start elementary school and interact cooperatively with peers - while managing also to compete physically and intellectually. As such, our aim (among other things) is to help preschoolers learn and practice in French through the following:


Movement milestones : Hoping and standing on one foot up to five seconds; catching a bouncing ball frequently; Moving forward and backward with agility


Milestones in hand and finger coordination: copy square shapes -draws a character with two to four body parts - use of scissors - drawing lines, making circles - start copying some capital letters;


Language milestones: understand the concepts of "same" and "different" - acquire basic rules of grammar -Speaking and constructing sentences with five to six words - enunciating and speaking clearly as to be understood - effective story-telling


Cognitive milestones: Correctly naming some colors - understand the use of numbers and counting - approaching problems from a single point of view - showing a clearer sense of time - recalling information and parts of a story - being able to differentiate


Social and emotional milestones: cooperate with other children -negotiate and resolve conflicts - develop independence - develop a holistic view of self and individuals (comprising body, mind, and feelings).
